Contact an Ayahuasca Retreat in Bali: Reserve Your Sacred Journey

To begin the conversation about attending a sacred plant medicine ceremony is to take a significant step toward profound self-inquiry. At Ayahuasca Retreat Bali Sacred, we honor the gravity of this decision. Our process is one of careful consideration, designed to ensure the safety, readiness, and alignment of each individual who joins our circles. We invite you to connect with our team to explore the possibility of participating in an authentic ayahuasca ceremony in Bali, held within a secluded forest sanctuary just north of Ubud. Your inquiry is the first step in a confidential and respectful dialogue. See also: Ayahuasca Retreat Bali Sacred Home.
An Invitation to Profound Transformation
Our retreats are held on a private, five-hectare estate located 15 kilometers from the cultural heart of Ubud, near the venerated spiritual site of Gunung Kawi. This is not a casual wellness escape; it is a deeply intentional immersion into the traditions of Amazonian shamanism, respectfully integrated within the potent spiritual landscape of Bali. The work undertaken here is intensive, requiring commitment and courage. In return, it offers the potential for deep healing and a recalibration of one’s life path. Our ceremonies are led by facilitators with decades of direct experience, ensuring a container of integrity and safety for this powerful exploration.
The medicine we serve is prepared with reverence, using sustainably harvested Banisteriopsis caapi vine and Psychotria viridis leaf sourced directly from a Shipibo community cooperative in Pucallpa, Peru, a partnership we have maintained since 2012. The brew is cooked on-site for 14 days, a meticulous process overseen by our lead facilitator. This commitment to authenticity is central to every aspect of our shamanic retreat in Bali. We believe the spirit of the medicine is honored through such intentional practices, from its origins in the Amazon to its ceremonial use in our Ubud sanctuary.
The Inquiry and Application Process
Due to the sensitive nature of this work, our intake process is thorough and multi-staged. This ensures that every participant is medically, psychologically, and spiritually prepared for the experience. The safety and integrity of the ceremonial space are our highest priorities. We ask for your patience and honesty throughout this confidential process, which is designed for the well-being of all.
The path to joining one of our retreats follows four distinct steps:

Ayahuasca Ceremony Bali: Our Sacred Protocol
An ayahuasca ceremony is a sacred and highly structured event. Our protocol is built upon more than 20 years of collective experience in holding space for this profound work. Each ceremony is held in a traditional, open-air Balinese pavilion, known as a wantilan, which allows for a deep connection to the natural energies of the surrounding forest. Ceremonies begin shortly after dusk, around 7:00 PM, and conclude in the early morning hours.
The participant-to-facilitator ratio is a critical element of our safety framework. We limit each retreat to a maximum of 12 participants, with a dedicated team of four staff present in every ceremony: one lead facilitator, two experienced space-holders, and a registered nurse with certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). This 1-to-3 ratio ensures that each participant receives attentive, immediate, and compassionate support whenever it is needed. This level of care is fundamental to a responsible Ubud ayahuasca experience. Following each ceremony, a formal integration circle is held the next day to help participants process and ground their insights.

The Facilitators: Guardians of Your Ubud Ayahuasca Experience
The quality of a shamanic retreat in Bali is determined by the experience, integrity, and compassion of its facilitators. Our team is composed of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the study and practice of plant medicine and consciousness work. They do not present themselves as gurus but as humble servants of the medicine and guides for your personal process.
Ibu Sari (Lead Facilitator): With over two decades of dedicated service to the medicine, Ibu Sari began her apprenticeship in 2002 in the Shipibo-Conibo tradition near Pucallpa, Peru. She has facilitated more than 600 ayahuasca ceremonies and is deeply committed to upholding the traditional ethics of this sacred work. Her guidance is gentle yet direct, creating a space of profound trust and safety.
Pak Dewa (Integration & Support): A fifth-generation Balinese Balian (healer), Pak Dewa brings the wisdom of his ancestral lineage to the integration process. He does not lead ceremonies but specializes in the energetic and spiritual support required after deep medicine work, helping participants ground their experiences within the unique context of Balinese spirituality. His family has been a guardian of their village temple for over 200 years.
Preparing for Your Bali Plant Medicine Retreat
Proper preparation is essential for a safe and beneficial experience with ayahuasca. Upon acceptance into our retreat, you will receive a detailed 35-page preparation guide. However, the core principles of preparation, known as the dieta, are universal. This is not merely a diet but a practice of purifying the body, mind, and spirit to become a clear vessel for the medicine.
Key preparation requirements include:
- Dietary Discipline: For a minimum of 14 days prior to the retreat, you must abstain from red meat, pork, alcohol, caffeine, fermented foods, excessive salt, sugar, and spicy foods. This purifies the body and is a critical safety measure.
- Medication & Supplements: You must disclose all medications and supplements on your application. SSRIs and MAOIs are strictly contraindicated with ayahuasca and must be discontinued under your doctor’s supervision well in advance of a retreat.
- Intention Setting: We encourage a practice of quiet contemplation and journaling in the weeks leading up to your arrival. Clarifying your intention—the “why” behind your decision to attend—is a powerful tool for navigating the experience.
- Media Fast: Reducing exposure to news, social media, and violent entertainment for at least one week prior helps to quiet the mind and increase sensitivity to the subtle energies of the medicine work.
